thanks for...







thanks for the rain,
thanks for the food,
thanks for a great day,
thanks for catching that error,
thanks for buying lunch,
thanks for understanding,

or

thanks for dying on the cross, like I heard earlier today.

this is not an ultra-religious post - language is curious, and some phrases just don't work for me. even thank-you feels better to me. I guess I totally approach religion with formality, and being casual just doesn't cut it sometimes.

How do you feel about "We give thanks for dying on the cross?"

I respond more positively to that phrase. maybe because it sounds corporate. and "give thanks" feels antique to me.
