I've decided to randomly post some photos that stand out to me. Here, the notion of soldiers crying in farewell to other soldiers seems odd in a number of ways, and prompts multiple questions in my brain: did they see violent combat together? are they somehow related? how long would they have known each other? are soldiers supposed to be so open with feelings? is their honor/pride involved?

nothing's better than a great storm that whips up the waves on lake michigan. unless, of course, you're on a boat in lake michigan. in which case, prayers, songs of redemption and peace, an iron stomach and a good hat are in order.

if they only knew that I'm a sucker for a bet, water, jumping, in, and of course, the almighty dollar. let me feel poorly about myself for a minute. although, I was wet in my shorts all afternoon. there was a little endurance/work involved on my part.
